The Master of Business Administration (Corporate Governance) is a specialized business training programme that focuses on corporate governance, transparency and accountability. The programme provides candidates with sound theoretical and practical understanding of corporate governance particularly on social accountability and reporting.
In addition, the programme gives candidates an understanding of behaviors and performance of different types of organization, an appreciation of strategic issues facing an organization and the policy formulation to address the challenges of business today. Candidates will be able to participate in enhancement courses such as Project Writing Workshops and attend Lecture Series by industrial experts.
Candidates who successfully complete the MBA (Corporate Governance) will be admitted as Graduates of Malaysian Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (MAICSA), upon the fulfillment of MAICSA’s membership requirement.
Candidate for a Master’s Degree by Coursework programme shall possess any one of the following minimum qualification and demonstrate that he is qualified to undertake postgraduate study:
A Bachelor’s Degree with Honours and CGPA of 2.75 and above or a Bachelor’s Degree with CGPA of 2.75 and above; or
A Bachelor’s Degree with Honours and CGPA of 2.50 and above but less than 2.75 or a Bachelor’s Degree with CGPA of 2.50 and above but less than 2.75 and subject to rigorious internal assessment, or
A Bachelor’s Degree with Honours and CGPA of 2.00 and above but less than 2.50 or a Bachelor’s Degree with CGPA of 2.00 and above but less than 2.50 , show evidence of at least five (5) years of relevant working experience and subject to rigorous internal assessment; or*
Any other academic qualifications equivalent to 1,2 or 3 and from another recognized University/Institution, as approved by the Senate**
* Five (5) years working experience means any working experience after obtaining the qualification which period shall also include practical training and any industrial attachment.
** UTAR welcomes applicant who do not possess entry qualification as the above. Alternatively potential applicant can apply to our programme by using APEL
In addition to the academic requirements a candidate is also required to possess an English Language certification – IELTS Academic : 6.0/equivalent
