Overview

This academic programme equips students with the fundamentals and applications of statistical methods and operations research techniques to support quantitative analysis, modeling and solving in the scientific and business-related problems.

Student will also exposed to managerial and computing skills to effectively and efficiently utilise and optimise the usage of organisational resources in service and manufacturing industries.

Graduates could apply memberships in statistics and operations research professional bodies associations locally and internationally such as Royal Statistical Society UK, The Operational Research Society UK, Malaysian Institute of Statistics, The Operations Research / Management Science Society of Malaysia and etc.

Entry Requirements

Minimum Requirement (Either one)

  • STPM: 2 C
  • A-level: 2 D
  • South Australian Matriculation (SAM): An Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) 70 and Grade B in 2 subject
  • Matriculation MoE in relevant field: CGPA 2.50 and above
  • Foundation in Science, UTAR
  • Diploma, TAR UC in the relevant field
  • Foundation in Science from other Institutions of Higher Learning
  • Diploma from other Institutions of Higher Learning in the relevant field
  • Other equivalent qualification recognised by the Malaysian Government

And

  • A credit in 1 SPM Mathematics subject / equivalent

Or

  • Canadian Pre-University (CPU): An average of 70% in 6 subjects including 1 Mathematics subject / equivalent
  • UEC: Grade B in 5 subjects including 1 Mathematics subject / equivalent
