The Bachelor of Science (Honours) Architecture provides students with a strong foundation which equips them well to work in a semi-professional capacity in architecture or related fields in the building industry.

The programme has been designed with the objectives of providing sound knowledge an architectural design and building construction, architectural detailing, transferable skills in presentations and IT, as well as the development of analytical and creative thinking.

Students learn about basic design, theory, manual and computer-aided drawing in the First year.

The Second year programme introduces them to small scaled buildings, building science and services, building construction and technology.

The Third year emphasizes on more complex, mid-rise building development, which integrates environmental sciences, structure, building services, construction and theory into the studio projects.

The Bachelor of Science (Honours) Architecture programme is a recognized first tier of the two-tiers professional architecture education, complying to the Lembaga Arkitek Malaysia (LAM) Part I requirements. Students who complete this first-tier undergraduate programme can pursue the second-tier – Masters in Architecture (LAM Part II) degree to complete the five-year professional architecture training.

Entry Requirements

Minimum Requirement (Either one)

  • STPM : 2 C and Credit in 1 SPM Mathematics subject
  • A-level: 2 D and Credit in 1 SPM Mathematics subject / equivalent
  • South Australian Matriculation (SAM): An Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) 70 and Grade B in 2 subject and Credit in 1 SPM Mathematics subject / equivalent
  • Canadian Pre-University (CPU): An average of 70% in 6 subjects and Credit in 1 SPM Mathematics subject / equivalent
  • UEC: 5 B and Credit in 1 SPM Mathematics subject / equivalent
  • Foundation / Matriculation / Pre-University programme recognised by the Malaysian Government
  • Diploma from other Institutions of Higher Learning recognised by the Malaysian Government
  • Other equivalent qualification recognised by the Malaysian Government

And

  • Credit in SPM / O-Level / UEC Art (Pendidikan Seni) – those without to submit:
  • Submit 3 pieces of A3 size drawings in hardcopies, in any medium( pencil, water colour, etc) together with the application documents;
  • The submission to include a CD or any digital media consisting of 8-10 minutes video recording of the applicant in the stage of drawing one of the three drawings: the video should capture the face of the applicant during the drawings with close-up shots of the drawing. In the video, the applicant should explain briefly the idea/meaning of the drawing and why he/she chooses architecture. The panels reserve the right to call the applicant for an interview should there be any query.
