Accounting is the systematic recording, categorising, analysing, reporting and preparation of financial statements by following a set of rules and regulations that governs financial reporting.

Accountants play a central role in auditing, budgeting, tax planning, investing, financing, raising of capital and etc. Accountants analyse the performance and financial health of a business. They provide businesses with meaningful information to make sound decisions and allow businesses to strategies and achieve its business objectives.

The Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) Accounting has been developed with the aim to train and educate competent, dedicated and professional accountants who are highly sought after by various industries.

Graduates of the Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) Accounting are eligible for certain exemptions from the professional examinations of ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW, CPA, MACS, MICPA, ICSA and CTIM.

Entry Requirements

Minimum Requirement (Either one)

  • STPM: 2 C+
  • A-level: 2 D
  • South Australian Matriculation (SAM): An Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) 70 and Grade B in 2 subject
  • Canadian Pre-University (CPU): An average of 70% in 6 subjects
  • Foundation in Science, UTAR: minimum CGPA 2.50
  • Foundation in Arts (Management and Accountancy Stream), UTAR: Minimum CGPA 2.50
  • Matriculation Certificate (MOE): Minimum CGPA 2.50
  • Diploma, TARUC: Minimum CGPA 2.50
  • Other equivalent qualification recognised by the Malaysian Government: Minimum CGPA 2.50

And

  • A credit in SPM English Language/ equivalent and MUET Band 2/ IELTS Band 5.0/ TOEFL Score of 500 (not applicable for qualifications conducted fully in the English language) and a credit in 1 SPM Mathematics subject/ equivalent.

Or

  • UEC (minimum 5 B5 subjects including 1 Mathematics subject and a Pass in English Language), a credit in SPM English Language/ equivalent and MUET Band 2/ IELTS Band 5.0/ TOEFL Score of 500.
