Overview

Master of Education (Early Childhood Education) provides the opportunity for students to delve further into what it takes to successfully guide and teach children. Students analyse and do qualitative research as part of the course, learning to determine the critical factors that affect the emotional, social and intellectual development of children in the early years
.

Entry Requirements

Programme Entry Requirements

You must meet the following requirements in order to be considered for entry to the UNITAR Master’s Programme:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Education in Early Childhood (Hons) with a minimum CGPA of 2.50; OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Hons) in related program with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 as accepted by the University’s Senate AND must have three (3) years working experience in Early Childhood education; OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Hons) with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 as accepted by University’s Senate AND Diploma in Early Childhood Education/ must have four (4) years working experience in Early Childhood education; OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education with CGPA below 2.50 could be accepted subject to five (5) years working experience in Early Childhood Education and rigid internal assessment;  OR
  • Any other equivalent qualifications recognized by the Malaysian Government.
  • Applicants into the Master’s program (level 7, MQF) through APEL, must be a Malaysian citizen aged more than 30 years of age in the year of application with relevant work experience/ prior experiential learning and passed APEL assessment.

English Requirements

LOCAL STUDENTS

The English Language Entry Requirement for Malaysian students at UNITAR International University are as follows:For PhD Programmes:

  • A minimum of credit in English SPM level; or
  • Pass a Master Degree from an institution which applies English as the medium of instruction recognised by the Malaysian Government, or
  • Pass an internal assessment set by the University, with a minimum score of C

For M.Ed TESL:

  • A minimum of credit in English at SPM level, or,
  • A minimum score of Band 3 in Malaysian University English Test (MUET), or,
  • Pass an internal assessment set by the University, with a minimum score of C

Note:

Internal Assessment : An oral test in the form of interview which will be conducted by a panel of interviewers consisting of two members from each Faculty and a representative from English Language department or any other related department
