Diploma in Early Childhood Education is ideal for those who are interested in working in the early childhood services sector. This programme will provide students with the skills necessary to plan and implement children’s curriculums, and handle the complex requirements in running early childhood facilities.
3 majors: TESL, Mathematics and Bahasa Malaysia
Well-rounded curriculum: cover different learning system (DSKP, Montessori, PERMATA, Waldoft education and Reggio Emilla approach)
Cultivate intellectual development through performing arts
Practical skills: practicum in government preschool centres, private / international preschool centres or nurseries
Entry Requirements
You must meet the following requirements in order to be considered for entry to the UNITAR Diploma Programme:
Pass SPM or its equivalent, with at least three (3) credits in any subjects; OR
Pass STPM or its equivalent, with a minimum of Grade C (NGMP 2.0) in any subject; OR
Pass STAM with a minimum Grade Maqbul; OR
Pass SKM Level 3 in ‘Pengasuhan Awal Kanak-kanak/Prasekolah / Early Childcare for Children/Pre-School’ and pass SPM or its equivalent with at least one (1) credit in any subjects; OR
Pass BTEC Level 3 and pass SPM or its equivalent, with at least one (1) credit in any subjects; OR
Pass Certificate in Early Childhood Education or its equivalent; OR
Pass TOEFL with a minimum score of 500 points or score 5.0 in IELTS for international students.
Applicants into the Diploma’s programmes (level 5, MQF) through APEL, must be a Malaysian citizen aged more than 20 years of age in the year of application with relevant work experience/ prior experiential learning and passed APEL assessment.
